History

1977 The company is founded by Gerhard Horstmann under the name "Baubedarf Horstmann GmbH", acting purely as a trading company for Switzerland. Based in Grießen, the company had 2 employees



1980 The company relocates to Erzingen.
Production of the company's own concrete spacers commences.



1985 Expansion of the production facilities and construction of new offices.



1989 Start of production of shuttering tubes in Klettgau and Hausen
The company Horstmann starts to gain recognition for the product Rapidobat.



1990 Foundation of the foreign subsidiary ANKABA in Switzerland



1992 Foundation of a production and storage site in Wachow (Berlin)



1993 The growth in terms of sales of shuttering tubes necessitates the construction of a new production hall. By now, Horstmann GmbH employ 85 members of staff.



1995 Expansion of the office buildings



1994 The range of technical products is widened.



1996 Foundation of the company GHL as the foreign division for Austria



1997 Offices are opened in Dresden, Essen and Nuremburg in order to increase the company’s presence in the German market.



2001 Mr Horstmann, who is the sole shareholder up to this point, sells 75% of his shares to DKG (Jordahl) in Berlin. He has remained available ever since for technical developments and as a consultant.
The number of employees has now grown to 180.
Since September 2001 the company’s sales have been handled by the sales group J&P die Baupartner.

2001 Market launch of the first balcony connection element with concrete thrust bearing Isopro.
Following the launch of the Isopro range of products, the elements manufactured in accordance with the thermal insulation approval are renamed in order to standardise product names across the range.



2003 Completion of the new production hall for shuttering tubes.

Foundation of Baumontec, an associated company in Russia.
The product range is expanded with the wall base element Isomur and the soundproofed dowels Isodorn HQW.



04.2005 Start of construction of the new production hall for thermal insulating elements and rebending connections. Current number of employees: 150.



2005 Completion of the new production hall for balcony insulation elements and rebending connections.
